J-6 Plans & Resource Office

Mission

The J-6/MEIT-PRO develops, coordinates, implements, and monitors IT budgets, spend plans, and portfolio management system and documents when necessary, such as Exhibit 300. PRO performs studies to evaluate ADPE utilization, computer standards and performance; develops and prepares technical specifications and justifications for ADPE, software, and service contract procurement; manages the ADPE and software replacement program in support of operations; manages costs associated with purchase, service and maintenance contracts including hardware/software leases, hardware/software purchases, COOP, copiers, printing, reimbursable costs for outside agencies, and serves as the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) for IT contracts. The office also sets up and maintains Asset Management for IT hardware and software.

J-6 Cyber Security Office

Mission

The J-6/MEIT-CSO develops, manages, and coordinates policies, procedures, and requirements for Information Assurance. CSO maintains the certification and accreditation of USMEPCOM systems. CSO monitors J-6 Compliance (Quality Control). CSO enforces Information Assurance security policies and safeguards for USMEPCOM systems and network, and ensures system security is not bypassed at the expense of operations. CSO oversees and performs Information Assurance Vulnerability Assessment (IAVA). The office concentrates on enforcing confidentiality and integrity of USMEPCOM data and Enterprise Infrastructure. CSO is kept abreast and is actively involved in all available issues of the system and data. The office processes all USMEPCOM access requests (DD 2875) for users
