J-6 IT Business Services Division


Plans, directs, and coordinates IT initiatives and the activities of all subordinate elements which include: Systems Development Branch, Quality Assurance Branch, and IT Project and Policy Management Branch.

J-6 Systems Development Branch

The J-6/MEIT-BSD-SDB is responsible for system development. The SDB provides systems analysis, design, programming, and supporting documentation of automation initiatives. The Branch provides technical support to Command users of automated systems and maintains contact with the functional proponents within the Command and with outside users. The SDB Branch Chief chairs the Enterprise Review Board (ERB) as part of the IT Governance process

J-6 Quality Assurance Branch

The J-6/MEIT-QAB provides quality control for all systems developed by and/or for USMEPCOM. QAB performs systems integration testing and review of outside testing efforts. The branch also provides continuous auditing for internal IT projects to ensure they follow the appropriate established IT development processes. QAB provides IT Configuration Management services and IT Release Management services for the Command.

J-6 IT Project & Policy Management Branch

The J-6/MEIT-BSD-PPM provides project management (PM) support, and visibility to projects within the J-6 project portfolio. PPM coordinates IT policy management, Service Level Agreements (SLAs), System Interface Agreements (SIAs), Memorandums of Agreement (MOAs), Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) and provides oversight of Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) implementation and IT training requirements.
