The Commander, Eastern Sector, USMEPCOM, is responsible for command and control of the 34 Military Entrance Processing Stations (MEPS) located in the continental United States east of the Mississippi River, including one station in Puerto Rico.

Eastern Sector Headquarters is co-located with USMEPCOM Headquarters in North Chicago, Illinois. The Sector Commander implements Command policies, reviews procedures and recommends changes to the Commander, USMEPCOM for ongoing improvement of MEPS operations, maintains liaison with both Active Duty and Reserve Armed Forces recruiting commanders, regional Office of Personnel Management Directors and other Federal agencies.
