Reimagined ASVAB Career Exploration Program Prepares for Mega Test Day

NORTH CHICAGO, Ill. – The Department of Defense-sponsored ASVAB Career Exploration Program (CEP) prepares to test 15 percent of its annual total on Mega Test Day Oct. 10, 2018.

This is the first time the ASVAB CEP is leveraging Snapchat, Facebook, and Twitter to engage participants to share their Mega Test Day experience on social media.

“We know we have a great program but we want others to tell that story,” Dr. Shannon Salyer, Executive Program Director, announced today.

The ASVAB CEP reengineered in 2016 to improve the post-test user experience, integrate social media and empower participants to explore all pathways to post-secondary success – college, work, and the Military.

The following year, the ASVAB CEP introduced the new to give educators, parents and youth a safe space to explore enlistment options and inclusive military occupational information before contacting a recruiter.

“The websites were redesigned to align our program with evolving industry demands,” Salyer said. “The program enhancements we continue to make support career literacy initiatives enacted by ESSA, Perkins and WIOA legislation."

Last year, more than 710,000 students participated in the ASVAB CEP. Students in grades 10-12 and those enrolled at post-secondary institutions are eligible to participate.
