Lieutenant Commander Brandi S. McGehee is the commander of the Knoxville Military Entrance Processing Station.

Lieutenant Commander McGehee received her commission in May 2003 through the Naval ROTC program at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Blacksburg, Virginia. She served the point defense officer and anti-submarine warfare officer aboard the guided missile destroyer USS Cole, and deployed as part of NATO’s Standing Naval Forces Mediterranean and participated in the exercise Baltic Operations; force protection and maritime security officer at Destroyer Squadron Two Eight and deployed as a part of the USS Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group, homeported in Norfolk, Virginia; combatting weapons of mass destruction and ballistic missile defense action officer, Navy Strategy and Policy Branch, Pentagon, Washington, District of Columbia; military pay and compensation policy action officer; Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Pentagon; administrative officer for the Military Support Division, Naval Research Laboratory, Washington, District of Columbia.

Lieutenant Commander McGehee’s professional military education includes the Navy’s Command Leadership and Ethics Center, the Senior Officer Legal Course, the Anti-Submarine Warfare Evaluator Course, the Human Resources Introductory Course and the Human Resources Intermediate Course. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, and a master’s in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College. She is also certified as a Professional in Human Resources.

Her military awards and decorations include three Navy and Marine Corps Commendations Medals, two Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, and numerous unit and service medals and ribbons. She has also earned the Naval Surface Warfare Officer Insignia.
