Lieutenant Colonel Michael K. Godwin

Lieutenant Colonel Michael K. Godwin is the commander of the Fort Dix Military Entrance Processing Station.

Lieutenant Colonel Godwin entered the United States Air Force in 1994 and received his commission after completion of Officer Training School, Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala. His first duty assignment was to Robins Air Force Base, Ga., where he served as Chief, Customer Service with the Warner Robins Air Logistics Center; he later served as Executive Officer with 78th Support Group and then Section Commander, 78th Mission Support Squadron. He was next assigned to Fairchild Air Force Base, Wash., where he served as Section Commander of 336th Training Support Squadron and later as Commander, Operations Support Flight, 336th Training Support Squadron. He was next assigned to Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala., where he served as Flight Commander, Squadron Officer School; then as Senior Flight Commander, Squadron Officer School; and later as Chief, Operations Division, Squadron Officer College. He was then assigned to Alexandria, Va., where he served as Chief, Military Personnel with Defense Contract Management Agency. His next assignment was to McGuire Air Force Base, N.J., where he served as Commander, Military Personnel Flight, 305th Mission Support Squadron. Prior to his current assignment he was assigned to Robins Air Force Base where he served as Executive Officer, Logistics Directorate, Headquarters, Air Force Reserve Command.

His professional military education includes Officer Training School, Squadron Officer School, and Air Command and Staff College (by correspondence). He has also earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Florida State University, Tallahassee, Fla., and a Master of Science Degree in Management from Troy State University, Montgomery, Ala.

Lieutenant Colonel Godwin's military awards and decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, three Meritorious Service Medals, Joint Service Commendation Medal, two Air Force Commendation Medals, and numerous unit and service medals and ribbons.
